Nose: The initial waft is dominated by a distinct barrel funk, swiftly followed by undertones of peanut brittle and vanilla frosting. A surprising burst of lemon zest emerges, reminiscent of the sharpness found in some Willett ryes, but it mellows out, drawing parallels with the more subdued citrus notes in Knob Creek 12 year. As the nose evolves, there's a dance between the zesty citrus and earthy undertones, akin to the rhythmic rotation of a lighthouse beam, intermittently illuminating the dark, tumultuous sea below.

Palate: The first sip is a delightful mix of sweet cherry and strawberry, which is quickly overshadowed by a tannic bitterness. As the drink settles, jammy notes of plum and raspberry coat the tongue, only to be swept away by the classic nutty oak flavor. The citrus zest makes a comeback, reminiscent of the nose, and is accompanied by dark, red grape notes that provide a sizzling sensation. The spice level is notably high, making it a drink best enjoyed on cooler days. As the flavors continue to evolve, there's a sudden shift to fig newton, which morphs into a minty sensation, culminating in a lemon drop finish. The whiskey's profile is reminiscent of a high-proof Knob Creek but with an added kick. The aftertaste varies between a zesty, spicy linger and a more subdued, flat sensation. The final sips reveal a creamy texture, with buttercream frosting balancing out the zesty lemon and sweet tea finish.
